Mission NIDRM considers recordkeeping for INSECT HAZARD among the core functions of a USDA Forest Service management assistant. The record keeping also is used for the NIDRM journal. The NIDRM journal is published as an on-line journal in Spring and Fall and as print newsprint in June. NIDRM Novellas are published periodically in May and August containing technical updates and new methods. In 2017, you can subscribe to our journal to receive spring and fall NIDRM newsprint.
The overall mission of NIDRM is to reduce the risks to forest forests from insects and diseases. A major part of this mission is to develop, implement and evaluate new forest management approaches in the United States. NIDRM manages multiple insect and disease projects and funds projects through the NIDRM award program. The NIDRM program is coordinated by the US Agricultural Research Service (ARS). The NIDRM project office is located in Madison Wisconsin. Organic certification for the organic logo is issued by USDA Forest Service’s Forest Products Laboratory under the organic seal of the USDA Forest Service. Insurance that matches or exceeds the private insurance provided to federal employees is available online through the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. FEHB claims are processed by certified insurance companies.
